Expanded Shock & Vibration Capabilies

DNB Engineering provides shock and vibration testing for product development, stress screening, accelerated life testing, in-service environment simulation, product qualification and certification, and transportation testing.

DNB Engineering now offers expanded shock and vibration capabilities with a new Unholtz-Dickie R16C/HST 13,500 force pound integrated shaker and slip table. This Shaker can be used for Sine, Random, Sine on Random, and Random on Random.  The system can produce shock pulses beyond 200 g’s as well as SRS (Shock Response Spectrum) profiles. This system has ultra-high levels of control and flexibility. Products that are too heavy, or are required to maintain a certain orientation, are accommodated by using the 4’ x 4’  Hybrid Slip Table (HST). The shaker armature has self-leveling capabilities and can support loads of 1500lbs. We can convert from horizontal to vertical in 20 minutes. We have two head expanders for use on this system in the vertical axis;  a large 3’ x 3’  and medium 2’ x 2’ fixture.

Unholtz-Dickie R16C/HST Shaker can test a large  variety of products: single & multiple circuit boards, power supplies, receivers, transmitters, desktop and portable computers, printers, monitors, transmitters, receivers and other computer and communication products. For automotive applications, the R-Series is used for testing any subassembly or completed assemblies. Other products include, inverters, motors, battery management systems, batteries, door panels, radiators & condensers, alternators, fuel rail assemblies, instrument panels, engine and suspension components.

SYSTEM FEATURES:

  • Max force is 13,500 lbf (60kN)
  • Armature Diameter: 17.5 inch (445 mm)
  • 200g shock capability
  • 2-inch peak-peak displacement, a requirement for many of today’s transportation and long duration shock tests
  • 1,500 lbs. (680 kg) internal pneumatic load support including automatic armature centering is provided for test specimen and fixture support
  • Hybrid Slip Table (HST)
  • Multiple Slip Plates: 20” x 25” and 48” x 48”
  • All slip plates include the armature insert pattern (radial) plus a 4” x 4” inch (100 x 100 mm) grid pattern of threaded inserts; both 3/8” and ½” fasteners are supported.
  • Larger plates are used for medium to large package sizes at low to moderate test amplitudes.
  • 24/7 long duration testing a specialty.
  • Smaller plate with reduced mass can be used for testing small test items to extreme SRS or random test amplitudes.
  • Cast magnesium driver bar.
  • Magnesium slip plate.
